Appearance: Nero is an average teenage girl in both height and weight. She's rather tanned with large brown eyes. Her most defining physical trait (other than her quirk) is her long and somewhat spiky baby pink hair, although it's naturally brown. She is always wearing a great deal of gold jewelry (all created by her, except for her watch--a gift from her father and extremely expensive) and seems somewhat flashy. Her eyes are heavy-lidded and she almost always has a bored look on her face. Her golden ear piercings include faux spirals, two cartilage on her left ear, and an industrial on her right. In her school uniform she wears two necklaces, one chain and another small choker.

In her hero outfit, she wears a skin tight white bodysuit. It has a sparkle-shaped hole on the chest and has a large solid gold band on each wrist and ankle to help with her quirk. She wears a belt and shoulder strap, beige in color, to hold golden bullets she makes in advance. (Since they're made of gold and shot from her own low-powered gun, also made of gold, they can't really kill anyone.) Her hair is tied up with a gold band to keep it out of her face.

Personality: Nero is a very, very laidback girl with an amicable personality. Because of her easygoing nature and her fancy quirk, people are naturally drawn to her. However, she's quite emotionally distant and struggles with letting people really understand her or having close friends. Her introversion only adds to this. She doesn't mind not having anyone to talk to because she revels in her own popularity. Despite this, she isn't too conceited and cares for others even if she isn't good at showing it.

Nero became a bit superficial after discovering her quirk, and presents a very classic "cool girl" image. Focusing on her fashion and appearance is always a concern for her, although it comes with ease. She's somewhat particular about devoting her time so she picks and chooses what (or who) she wants to be interested in. She's trying to work on this, because she thinks it's too childish and selfish--but she also doesn't care too much. She doesn't really care about a lot of things, really, and she's prone to doing whatever she wants. Nero, because of her detached personality, ends up being a very good person to have a lot of simple fun with, like partying, etc..

Character Background: 
Nero was born to a relatively normal mother and father. She was their first child, so they were nervous about her quirk; her mother was a tailor with a quirk that allowed her to release steam from her palms and her father was a bouncer with a rock-transformation quirk. They were poor because of some large debts her father had accumulated and previous family issues, but Nero was always optimistic because her parents loved her so much. She was worth more than any money to them, and they expressed it. She attended nice schools with unknown money and always looked presentable, even if the water had been turned off at their apartment.

Nero had a late-manifesting quirk, at age 7. She regrets every day that she couldn't have had it sooner. She was ridiculed both for her quirklessness and her parents' occupations at her school (since it was too fancy). However, the truth of her father's second job was that he dealt some hard stuff--he was a minor dealer but did somewhat reckless things to guarantee his family's financial stability. He hid it from her, and most other people, very well. She always saw him with her uncle going out far too late at night and how her mother would argue about how things were "not worth it" and she was "scared" for Nero. When she discovered her quirk, her parents were both overjoyed and unbelievably frightened. It provided so many opportunities for their economical advancement but also so many for her to be used and hurt. She tried to scratch her skin off--unable to extend/separate the gold at this time--so that she could sell the valuable flakes. Her parents saw this and made her promise never to use her quirk for money, and never to show it freely. She was torn apart, because she knew that she would solve all their problems for her to use her quirk but she couldn't disobey her parents. So she didn't.

Her father was arrested a year after that (she doesn't know if it was only dealing, or more). Nero's life was thrown into shambles as she lost the person most important to her in her life, all because she didn't use her quirk. She felt it was entirely her fault (it wasn't) and swore to herself she would never let her mom be so desperate as her dad--especially after they were left poor without a second income. From that day on, she trained her quirk, eventually creating beautiful golden things to sell as art, or just melt down. She had to return to local school and get a job as soon as she was able, but she knew she wanted to go to a high ranking school to become a hero or just to make sure no one would ever have to do morally questionable things for the sake of money. It was a stupid goal, especially to her now, but she keeps the same basic principles.

Nero studied uncharacteristically hard and trained her quirk to get into U.A. Her personality had become laidback and her family wasn't struggling. She no longer wanted to become a hero, but she still wished to attend such a prestigious school. Applying to U.A. secretly, she got into the General Studies course because of her valuable quirk limited by her unmotivated attitude. At the Sports Festival, her quirk and its applications caused such a large commotion that the U.A. staff was practically forced to put her in the Hero course. She was sought after by heroes and businesses alike, and the faculty believed she had to be taught how to defend herself (if villains wanted it, too). She accepted and was promoted to the Heroes Dept. in Class 1-B, where she settled very quickly.
